Do I need a bank account?
No. You only need a phone number and a valid ID. Over 60% of Haitians don't have a bank account — HTD is built for them.
How much does it cost to use HTD?
When you redeem HTD for cash at an authorized agent, a 3% bridge fee applies. Sending HTD to another user is free.
Where can I redeem for cash?
At any authorized agent. You can find them through the app, which shows nearby agents with sufficient cash on hand.
What if the rate changes?
Inside the app, the rate never changes. 1 HTD = 5 HTG. Always. The only thing that changes is the value of the gourde itself against other currencies.
Is my money safe?
Your HTD balance is redeemable for gourdes at any time. Every HTD in circulation is matched by gourdes held in reserve. You can see your balance and transaction history in the app.
What if I lose my phone?
Your account is tied to your phone number and a secure PIN. If you lose your phone, contact support to recover access. Your balance is not stored on the device itself.
Can I send HTD to anyone?
Yes — anyone with the app and a phone number. They don't need to have signed up first to receive a notification.
